WHEN YOU arrive at Nanplough, just pull up past the two granite pillars at the end of the drive, switch off your engine and wind down your window.

If you wanted to get away from it all, don't worry, you have. At the heart of the Lizard Peninsula. Footpaths mentioned in many Lizard Peninsula walking guides pass through the farm.

You see, you're in a unique world, 24 peaceful acres near the western edge of the wild and beautiful Lizard Peninsula. Our valley stream flows down to the excellent beach at Poldhu, a good starting point on the spectacular and exhilarating coast path.

Within easy exploring distance you'll find breathtaking Kynance Cove, the harbours of Mullion and Coverack, the beautiful Helford River and the drama of Lizard Point. The famous maritime and shopping centres of Falmouth, Penzance and Truro are just half an hour's drive away. The fabulous Eden Project, Cornwall's brightest attraction is just fifty minutes away.

Nanplough Farm - a holiday for all seasons: - In springtime the cliff paths are quiet, sea-pinks and gorse blaze with colour and nearby Helston pipes in the summer with the world-famous floral dance. Come autumn, our squirrels are busier, there are log fires in the village inns and the beaches are deserted save for you and the oystercatchers.

YOU'LL NOTICE at once that the house is elegant and spacious without having lost that special feeling of homeliness. Built in 1887, the year of Queen Victoria's jubilee, it retains the grandeur of the Victorian age while being completely modernised.
You'll find that there are plenty of nooks where you can curl up with a good book. The windows give out onto the wooded valley with gentle pastures beyond. In the large sunny dining room, you'll enjoy the heartiest of breakfasts. Our guest rooms are spacious, comfortable, have TV and will give you impressive countryside views.

Room Details

Rooms are centrally heated (en-suite) and have tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and colour television.

Sunrise Room: Large en-suite double room with lovely views.
Sunset Room: Large en-suite family room with lovely views (double bed and bunks).

Self Catering

NANPLOUGH FARM COTTAGES clustered round a central courtyard, are part of the original farm. Exposed beams and rendered walls retain the character of each comfortable, tastefully decorated and well appointed property.

They're centrally heated (except Woodpeckers which has convector heating) and well insulated, with fitted kitchens, bathrooms, colour TVs, videos and radio CD players.

You'll find plenty of sun-traps around the outdoor heated swimming pool [in season], patio and lawn, there's a children's play area and a games room with table-tennis and snooker.

Your beds will be made up and there'll be a welcoming tea tray when you arrive.

All Cottages have:

Fitted kitchens - include electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Bathrooms have baths with fitted shower (Woodpeckers has en-suite shower only).

Cots and highchairs - Available on request - for a small charge.

Bed linen - The beds will be made up ready for you. Linen is included in the price and we can provide towels at a small cost.

Electricity & heating - are included.

Laundry room - There's a fully-equipped laundry room with washing machine and tumble-dryer, and there's an outside clothesline.
