Welcome to our hotel, The Netherwood. Personally supervised and run by the Fallowfield family and has been for many years.

We have a long and renowned tradition for friendly personal service and our attention to detail applies throughout all aspects of the hotel. We will do our utmost to ensure that your stay with us will be an experience to be savoured.

The hotel was built in the late 1800's as a private home for the Deakin family and is set in extensive grounds overlooking the Morecambe Bay estuary. It was at a time when English Craftsmanship was at its peak. The most memorable feature of the building is the impressive original oak panelling, giving you a feeling of warmth and traditional Old English hospitality at its best.

Netherwood has panoramic views over Morecambe Bay, terraced gardens with unique topiary, in an almost sub tropical climate.

The numerous panelled rooms include a library, lounge, lounge bar and a ballroom, each with its own unique open log fire. With the logs crackling in the grate it is easy to close your eyes and imagine being here a century ago; even now the same traditional ambience remains. This friendly atmosphere can be felt throughout the hotel and should you find yourself wanting for anything, all you need do is ask, there is alway someone to hand.

All of our bedrooms are en-suite (several of which are non-smoking) and all are beautifully appointed and equipped to a high standard with modern facilities. All rooms have a sea or woodland view, or overlook the gardens.

We are justly proud of our fully air-conditioned elevated restaurant, which again offers splendid views over the gardens and bay.

The cuisine is excellent and varied to suit all tastes and diets. Our chefs prepare the daily menu using only fresh produce.

The Netherwood Spa facilities are available to all our residents, and include a heated indoor pool, spa bath, steam room, exercise area and even a playpen for the very young. The pool area is permanantly supervised should you need any assistance. A lift provides access to reception areas and first floor bedrooms include the bedroom for the disabled

Grange-over-Sands is easily reached by road or rail. From the M6 motorway, take exit No.36 and the A590 signed Barrow-in-Furness. Follow the signs for Holker Hall on the B5277. The Netherwood is on the right just before the station. Rail travellers can change from the main Euston/Glasgow line at Carnforth or Lancaster and take a connection direct to Grange station, near to the Netherwood. We can arrange to have you collected at the station if you so wish.
