Northorpe is a modernised and extended 200 year old cottage. It takes its name from the lost village destroyed by coastal erosion centuries ago and which now lies some ¼ mile off the Holderness coast.

Northorpe, Hornsea, East Riding of Yorkshire

Bed and Breakfast accommodation is available in the main house, and we also offer self catering accommodation in a detached holiday cottage set in the grounds. Local pubs, cafes, and restaurants offer a wide range of dining options.Northorpe is surrounded by green fields with distant views to Flamborough Head, the coast, and the Yorkshire Wolds, yet is within easy walking distance of the picturesque seaside town of Hornsea.

Attractions in the immediate area include of course the beach, Hornsea Mere which is the largest natural freshwater lake in Yorkshire, the Folk museum, and Hornsea Freeport, a shopping village offering designer goods at discount prices. Sailing, boating, fishing and golf are among the many local activities.

Hornsea is an ideal base for exploring the East Riding of Yorkshire. The market towns of Beverley and Driffield, Bridlington with its harbour and beaches, and the city of Hull with its many museums, art gallery, and renowned aquarium "The Deep", are all within a half hour drive. Equally accessible are the rolling uplands of the Yorkshire Wolds, and the spectacular and unspoilt coastline of the Flamborough peninsular.

Slightly further afield, York, Scarborough, Whitby and the North York Moors are all within a day's trip.
