Your Accommodation
Oakenholt Farmhouse is a spacious grade 2 listed Farmhouse with interior wood work and beams, dating backto 1450 which has been sympathetically renovated to provide lovely comfortable homely accommodation for visitorson both short or long stays, on holiday or visiting the area on business to the Flint area or Deeside Industrial Park, whichis now only 5 minutes away via the new bridge. Visitors will see a new land mark, the Dee span bridge on the newly diverted A548, which is the new gateway to Wales from the M56.

Stables Apartments
Single, double and twin. Ground floor or 1st floor bedroom with mini kitchen and TV sitting area, all rooms with en suite shower, double with bathroom/shower.

The farmhouse is situated amidst open countrysice on the Dee Estuary midway between the historic townof Flint, famous for its castle, built by Edward 1st in 1277, and Connah's Quay which was founded on boat building, fishing and smuggling, little of these sadly remain.The lounge is situated in the oldest part of theonce medieval hall house and is beamed as is the hall with exposed crook beams in the walls.

Guests are accommodated in spacious, comfortable, co-ordinated cottage style rooms equipped with hot drinksfacilities, en-suite, double/twin rooms and family rooms, towels are provided, central heating and TV.

Beautiful dining room overlooking large mature garden. French Windows leads to patio area.

Places to Visit
A car is really a necessity to explore North Wales, however there is a coastal train running from Crewe to Holyhead very often pulled by a steam engine during the summer months. A local coach company runs many tripsaround North Wales and Cheshire for people who do not wish to explore by car. Your host will only be too pleasedto advise you on the vast number of places to visit, a good selection of brochures is available to you to look through inthe lounge while you relax in the evening. There are videos to watch, games and snooker table available for yourpleasure in the lounge.

Your Hosts
The Hulme family;Les, Jenny, and familyhave been welcoming guests for the last 20 years as their visitors' bookwill vouch, and have made many friends who have repeatedly visited them. Jenny has acquired a W.J.E.C in Rural Tourism and will be delighted to answer your inquiries. A substantial farmhouse breakfast is provided - other diet requirements by arrangement. Evening meals are provided by prior arrangement between 6pm and 8pm. We are not licensed, but please bring your own wine to accompany your evening meals. Surprise parties organised for special occasions. Peaceful away from the kids. Weekends available.

Leisure Time
Theactivities available are numerous. Walking, Leisure Centres, Golf, Swimming, Sailing, Shooting School, Greenfield Heritage Centre, St Winefreds Well, City of Chester, Erddig NT Theatres, cinemas, Suncentre and Sealife centre. Seaside resorts are Rhyl and Prestatyn and zoos at Chester and Colwyn Bay. Dee Nature Reserve and the beautiful countryside of Flintshire and Snowdonia are also in easy reach.

Guests travelling from Chester or Rhyl should take the A548 coast road, the farm residence is off theDual Carriage way midway between Flint and Connah's Quay. 1 mile from the new Flintshire bridge.
