A tastefully restored old Bakehouse set in an attractive mediaeval market town. Ideally sited to explore the local area and the famous Jurassic Coast - now a World Heritage site.

The Old Bakehouse combines comfort with a wealth of historical charm. Guests may relax in the lounge in beautifully appointed surroundings.

Our pretty garden offers a secluded and sunny spot in which to take your ease.

The Old Bakehouse, a 400 year old grade II listed building, was renovated and established as a business in 2000.

Frances, the owner and manager, runs the B&B, aiming to provide friendly, personal and a well run 4 STAR SILVER AWARD accommodation, which includes 5 rooms, all en-suite.

The B&B has consistently achieved high standards of cleanliness coupled with well appointed, anti allergenic rooms, and a desire to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

All products and food are sourced as locally as possible, and breakfasts are freshly cooked to order. We are delighted to offer special diets as required, and hold a stock of non dairy and gluten - free food items. Room service available. Tea rooms open all year round.

During Summer months, cream teas are served in the pretty courtyard garden.

The building retains a wealth of charm and interesting features, with beamed dining rooms and a cosy guest lounge.

All bookings are subject to a non re-fundable deposit, to confirm the booking fully.
In the event of cancellation, the deposit will be retained, and held for a four month period, to give an opportunity to re book.
