We have 33 beautifully appointed contemporary bedrooms, elegantly decorated with hand painted wallpaper, custom built wooden furniture and generously oversized beds. In summer months the Green View Roof Terrace comes into its own with al fresco drinks and dining, accompanied by a wonderful view across the estate.

Old Thorns magnificent championship golf course ranges across the verdant, rolling hills of the estate and offers fantastic views at every turn. Mature trees, natural springs, lakes and testing bunkers give real character to the course which, while kind to the less experienced golfer, holds some surprises for the player who enjoys a challenging round in a classic English landscape.

The par 72 course has an illustrious history. Plans for its development started in 1976 and come to fruition in 1981, when Peter Alliss, Honoray President of the Club, and Dave Thomas completed construction of the course they had painstakingly designed. A year later its official inauguration saw Seve Ballesteros, Jack Nicklaus, Isao Aoki and the then reigning Open champion Bill Rogers play a competitive four-ball.

Today the course is meticulously maintained to the very highest standards. Players have at their disposal a fleet of motorized golf buggies and all your golfing needs are taken care of at the spacious, well stocked PGA approved Pro shop. Whatever your standard you can benefit from the tuition by our resident PGA Professionals on the driving range, putting green or on the course itself.
