About Glastonbury

The Isle of Avalon is famous throughout the world as the birthplace of Christianity in Britain and for its links with King Arthur. Visitors from all corners of the earth have visited its Abbey ruins and climbed the Tor. The Tor is about 520ft high and at its summit stands the remains of the Church dedicated to St. Michael. The view from the top is breathtaking, looking down on Glastonbury Abbey, Wearyall Hill, The Holy Thorn and for miles beyond. In more recent years, Glastonbury has become a centre for healing using natural sources.
