Dee and Jim welcome you to their Victorian home, on the beautiful Island of Bute. Enjoy a relaxing break at Palmyra and savour the spectacular views over Rothesay Bay and the Argyll Hills beyond. The house was built in 1858 and retains many original features.

We are situated on the waterfront less than a 1mile from Rothesay and the Ferry pier and we will be happy to meet you if you are not bringing a car.

The unexplored island of Bute

Bute is the ideal place to unwind, an island of low hills and sandy beaches - just right for the outdoor life where you can relax away from the rush of busier places - that's the magic of the Isle of Bute. Maybe that's why when we came for a "day out" we decided to stay, but that's along story…Jim and I spent many years travelling, then settle in Callander. After 10 years of running a restaurant we decided to change direction, but as you may have guessed that didn't happen. As both of us have a strong military background, we combined our forces for yet another challenge, and this is it…We love our island and if you venture here we hope you will love it too! Our home is truly different, so to all friends old and new, we look forward to seeing you again one day…

During the year there are several festivals on the Island. , Jazz - Country and Western - Folk etc…
The Bute Highland Games are held in August every year.
