Welcome

The Plas-Y-Coed Guest House offers you a warm and friendly welcome. We are nestled in a rural valley, offering enchanting views from our 4 en-suite rooms. Delicious home-cooked meals are available from our extensive menu which includes vegetarian dishes. A hearty English breakfast is included in our reasonable prices.

Breakfast is served between 7.30 am to 9.30 am Monday to Friday and between 8 am and 10 am on weekends.

Guests wishing to have breakfast earlier can arrange for a continental breakfast from our buffet table.

We offer Sunday lunch to non residents from 12.30 to 5 pm. Takeaway service available - Dial-a-Roast bring your own plate! ;-)

Museums

Pontypool Museum houses a range of local artifacts, including Japanware. It is also home to the Barker Gallery which displays contemporary art. Skiing

Located within Pontypool Park is one of Wales' longest dry ski slopes. A 230m slope serviced by 1 poma tow and 1 rope tow. Who is the service for? The Ski Centre is open to everyone regardless of skiing ability, however complete beginners must have at least 3 lessons before they can attend open practice. Watersports and fishing

Llandegfedd Resovoir is set in beautiful surroundings and offers daily fishing sessions, windsurfing and sailing.

Pontypool Active Living Centre is located nearby and has fabulous leisure facilities including an olympic sized pool with hydro slides, a newly refurbished gym with sauna, steam rooms and spa, badmington, trampolines and bowling green. We charge £30.00 per person per night. However, family bookings may receive a deduction for each child, depending on age and the type of room requested.

A travel cot can be installed in your room - free of charge.

For breakfast, choose from our cold buffet, followed by a full English, details of which can be found on 'our restaurant' page.

Unlimited tea, coffee and toast is included in the price.

Fresh clean towels and complimentary toiletries await your visit in all of our ensuite rooms.

Wifi access is free for all our guests.

A laundry service is available for a small charge. If you require an iron and ironing board, just ask.

Our sweet little Gallery and Tea Room offers local art and craft makers a chance to display their work in a quaint warm friendly atmosphere.

A wide range of paintings, prints, textiles and wooden crafts are always available to purchase, ideal for those of you wishing to buy that special heart-felt gift, while sipping our selection of teas, coffees and other delicious beverages. All our products are handmade made in Wales.

Come and try a piece of homemade cake and a nice cup of coffee (Latte, Capuccino, Americano, Expresso the choice is yours. Or, how about afternoon tea? Indulge in a pot with homemade scones plain or fruit (whichever your taste buds prefer ), served with delicious, homemade strawberry preserve. High tea comes with the same as well as a selection of sandwiches, welsh cakes and fancies of your choice.
