An alternative escape is provided with the Ferry rides and Harbour Cruises, including Jurassic coastal cruises and RSPB guided bird boat trips in winter, and the ferry to Brownsea island provides you with a haven in which to enjoy walks, wildlife and an insight into the birthplace of Scouts and Guides.

Dorset also offers a range of amazing shopping, a fabulous selection of restaurants and a cool night scene, with the many bars and pubs along the streets. You can enjoy the fantastic Dolphin Shopping Centre, the largest shopping centre in Dorset and the developing array of shops and discount outlets on Poole Quay provide you with lots of exciting opportunities for some retail therapy. Weekly markets give a more traditional feeling where you can experience some locally produced treats to indulge in.
