The Red House Hotel and Maxton Lodge Apartments are situated together in the leafy lanes of Chelston. A charming and tranquil area of Torquay providing village shops and identified by its large red-stone Victorian Villas. We are situated only 800 yards from Torre Abbey Sands and close to the harbour and town - just a short ride away by bus which passes our door. |

The Red House Hotel is a small, comfortable and well-appointed family hotel. Friendly staff will greet you on arrival, and throughout your stay we will be on hand to help you enjoy your time with us.

The hotel is well equipped, with its comfortable lounge, bar and restaurant area, all overlooking the enclosed garden which provides a pleasant and sheltered suntrap in the summer.
Breakfast and a three course dinner are served daily in our restaurant in addition to an extensive bar menu which provides meals and lights snacks throughout the day. |

Maxton Lodge
Purpose-built to a high standard, Maxton Lodge has 24 fully equipped, centrally heated apartments located directly next to the Red House Hotel. Guests staying in the apartments can also enjoy the facilities of the hotel and its Leisure Club.
The emphasis throughout is on comfort, with kitchens and living rooms offering a high standard of equipment. There is a manager in attendance to make sure that these standards are maintained, so you can be sure of a carefree holiday.Maxton Lodge offers private guest parking facilities on site. |

Guests of all ages will enjoy the extensive patio and poolside area located between Maxton Lodge and Red House Hotel. During the summer months this is a very popular spot for guests to relax, sunbathe and take a dip in the heated pool. Bar meals and drinks are also served in this area; on a fine day you need never leave the poolside.
Indoors
The large heated indoor pool provides all-year round enjoyment for guests. A fully equipped gym gives the opportunity to tone muscles and our in house Beauty Salon offers a wide variety of treatments to help keep you feeling your best during your stay. English Riviera
Tor Bay is known as the English Riviera and with good reason. The resort enjoys some of the finest weather in England and is an area of great natural beauty.
Palm trees and other tropical plants thrive and there are many beaches and small sandy coves to enjoy. Shopping and entertainment facilities in Torquay itself are excellent and nearby there is a wealth of attractions for all age groups including gardens and parks, Paignton Zoo, Babbacombe Model Village, and the Dart Valley Railway. Torquay has many good restaurant, pubs and nightclubs.
The Riviera Centre is just 300yds away from the Red House Hotel and Maxton Lodge.
How to find us
From the M5 and Exeter follow signs to Torquay. On the approach to Torquay the road will divide at Torre Station. Take the right hand road marked to Sea Front and Paignton. At the first set of traffic lights turn right into Old Mill Road. Drive past the shops and follow the road around a sharp bend to the left. Opposite the church, Rousdown Road bears to the left. The Red House Hotel and Maxton Lodge Apartments are 50 yards down on the right. |
