Our relaxed and friendly guest house is perfectly situated 5 minutes from the beach, shops and Swanage Steam Railway. We are also within easy reach of the Purbecks and Dorset coast where you will find superb diving, walking, cycling, climbing and bird watching opportunities. Swanage is part of the World Heritage site of the 'Jurassic Coast', which extends to Exmouth in Devon.

Only 40 minutes away by car or train are the historic towns of Wareham, Poole, Dorchester and Weymouth, who will be hosts to the 2012 Olympic Sailing events.

Rooms and Facilities

For the safety of our guests, Rivendell is a non-smoking guest house. Smoking is permitted in the garden. Comprehensive fire alarm and emergency lights throughout.

All of our rooms are en suite, with TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. The whole house is centrally heated and has thermostatically controlled radiators in each bedroom. There is an open fire in the guest lounge, video and DVD player, board games and books. The garden is open to guests.

Room Rates

£35.00 per person per night on a bed and breakfast basis.
Family rooms: £95.00 (based on 2 adults and one child under 12 years).
Discounts are available for weekly (7 nights) stays.
Single occupancy surcharges apply in the case of less than two adults staying in a double/twin/family room. Details on request.

All room rates are inclusive of VAT at the current rate.

Terms and Conditions

A deposit of one night's stay per person will be required when making a booking. We accept cash, cheques and credit/debit card payments.
In the event of cancellation, you will receive a refund less 10% administration fee per person. If we are unable to re-let the room, a charge of one night's stay per person will be made.
Cheques should be made payable to Rivendell Guest House.

Arrival and Departure

Rooms will be available from 4:00 pm onwards on the day of your arrival (unless prior arrangements have been made), and must be vacated by 10:30 am on the day of your departure.
