We welcome you to The Riverside Hotel.This dramatic property on the River Kent dates back to 1626 and was home to renowned makers of leather for 250 years.
Today our newly modernised 47 bedroom hotel offers you the ideal blend of comfort and convenience, right in the heart of Kendal. Use us as a base to explore the Lakes or indulge yourself in our restaurant, our bar and our superb leisure facilities. Step out into picturesque market town of Kendal or take a short drive (from our ample free parking) to Windermere, with its walks, cruises and fascinating shops. From here to the bustling town of Keswick at the northern end of beautiful Derwentwater lies the sublime scenery of the world famous Lake District national park.

All of our bedrooms present a high level of comfort with well appointed ensuite bathrooms and a full range of modern facilities including satellite TV.
For that special occasion we have the magnificent Bellingham suite as well as other four poster rooms. We have several spacious family rooms and dogs are also welcome (at no extra charge).
The Riverside Hotel's modern leisure facilities include a fully equipped gym to complement The Lake District's unparalleled variety of sporting and team-building challenges.
We are delighted to welcome wedding parties in our private dining room which caters for up to 250 guests. For conference and corporate events, we can provide a large suite for up to 250 delegates, as well as smaller seminar rooms.

How to Find Us
From the Motorway
Leave the M6 at Junction 36
Follow the dual carriageway signposted for Kendal
Go past the first exit for Kendal & carry on the bypass for Kendal North
Follow Windermere Road into Kendal past the County Offices
Go left at the lights over the bridge and past the Peugeot garage
Then right at the mini-roundabout
Keep right past the County Hotel into Wildman Street
Turn right at the zebra crossing into Beezon Road and The Hotel is on your left.
There is free parking for 40 cars adjacent to the hotel with a further 60 reserved places on Station Road
