Truly Individual... Truly Magical... An Extraordinary Romantic & Historic Hotel

Ruthin Castle (name derived from the Welsh words meaning 'red fort') is one of the most romantic and historic castles in Wales and has been described by guests as "truly magical".Ruthin Castle dates from before 1277 and dominates the historic Welsh market town of Ruthin, close to Chester, Llangollen and within easy reach of the North Wales Coast, Snowdonia and picturesque Betws-y-Coed. The castle previously formed part of the Crown Estate until sold by Charles I in 1632 and sits in its ancient walled dry moat within acres of private landscaped gardens, parkland and woods alongside the River Clwyd.Ruthin Castle
Accomodation
The castle has a proud, centuries-old tradition of providing hospitality and comfort including hosting numerous Royal guests. It is difficult not just to feel welcome but also to feel part of the great history of the castle and those that have come before.

The Guest Bedrooms
Many of the 62 bedrooms have been refurbished to a very high standard and are available as deluxe twins/doubles. An even higher standard is available in the Royal Salons and the Prince of Wales.
Each of these designer rooms has its own individual personality.

Most rooms enjoy views over the 30 acres of gardens, parkland and woods of the estate and towards the surrounding Welsh mountains (at times snow-capped in Winter). All bedrooms are within the main buildings and upper floors are served by lift.
