The Hidden Places of the Lake District Open to Non-Residents Car Parking available This small hotel with an informal and relaxed atmosphere, is situated within the centre of the village of Ennerdale Bridge on one of the most beautiful stretched of Wainwright's Coast to Coast long footpath and is very popular with walkers. From here you can explore the hidden and tranquil beauty of Ennerdale. The area offers lake shores, river banks, valley paths and forest tracks which together offer a tremendous variety of walks suitable for all ages and capabilities. Other activities include fishing, canoeing, bird watching, rock climbing and pony trekking. The hotel has three twin and three double rooms all with en-suite facilities and one single and one twin with private bathrooms. A family room is also available. All bedrooms are centrally heated and are non-smoking. Tea and coffee making facilities and remote control TV are available in all rooms. |

| The Shepherd's Bar is open to the public and is included in the Camra Good Pub Guide. A variety of real ales are served and there is an extensive bar menu including daily 'specials' and a wide selection of vegetarian dishes. There are two open fires to welcome guests and particularly during the autumn and winter months the bar is a venue for local folk and jazz groups. |
