Smugglers Rock Country House
Smugglers Rock Country House is a stone built Georgian property built in approximately 1840. The house is situated in Ravenscar which is at the southern end of Robin Hood's Bay in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The house has panoramic sea and countryside views and is ideally situated between Whitby and Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast.

The guesthouse has eight lovely en-suite bedrooms (some with four poster beds), a spacious guests' lounge and an open-beamed breakfast room where we serve a 'Delicious Yorkshire' breakfast.

Smugglers Rock also has three beautiful self catering cottages on site, each sleeping four people, available for holiday lets.

We also hold a Caravan Club CL licence (for caravan club members only)and have five pitches on a one acre site for touring caravans.

Smugglers Rock is an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring the lovely towns and villages on this stunning part of the coast but still amid the Yorkshire countryside.

The Guest House
Smugglers Rock Country House is a stone built Georgian property built in approximately 1840. The house is situated in Ravenscar in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors National Park and has panoramic sea and countryside views. The Guest House has eight lovely bedrooms all with en-suite shower rooms and some with four poster beds. There is a spacious guests' lounge and an open-beamed breakfast room where we have a comprehensive breakfast menu with a self service breakfast bar where you can help youself to a variety of cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, yogurts, and a selection of fruit teas. We serve organic white and brown toast, Yorkshire leaf tea or Fairtrade cafetiere coffee, both of which taste wonderful with our own filtered water pumped from our borehole. Our 'Delicious Yorkshire' cooked breakfast is oven cooked in our Aga and consists of locally sourced food including eggs from our own free range hens. We also serve Earl Gray leaf tea and decafeinated coffee.

Smugglers Rock Cottages
We have three self-catering cottages at Smugglers Rock. All are NON-SMOKING and sleep four people (baby in a travel cot*). All three cottages are well equipped with colour TV, DVD player, Digibox, CD/stereo, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric cooker, coffee machine or cafetiere, kettle and toaster and all are provided with patio furniture and barbeque. Bed linen, bath, hand and kitchen towels are provided and heating and electricity are also included, together with off road parking. We also provide a welcome tray for your arrival, usually consisting of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, eggs, butter, biscuits, cereal, jam portions and a bottle of wine.

Smugglers Rock and Smugglers Cove Cottages have electric fires and overnight storage heating and both kitchens have been newly refurbished. Smugglers Rock cottage has a 4 star rating and Smugglers Cove has a 3 star rating (4 star pending). Smugglers View Cottage has oil fired central heating. This cottage has a 4 star rating.

Smugglers Rock Country House has a Caravan Club CL licence which enables us to have 5 touring caravans on our one acre field adjacent to the house. Each of the pitches has access to 10A electric hook-up. We have fresh water points and toilet emptying facility.

The site is slightly sloping and the pitches are well spaced and have long distance views towards Ravenscar village and the sea. Access to the site is through the guest house car park.

Smugglers Rock CLis an ideal place to stay for a relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring the lovely towns and villages on this stunning part of the coast but still being surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside. There are many wonderful walks close by including the Cleveland Way, the Lyke Wake Walk, as well as Moors to Coast cycleway. We have access to the beach only 2 1/2 miles away from the site (down 100 steps!) and it is a lovely walk to Robin Hood's Bay along the beach.
