We offer adults deluxe accommodation with two en-suite bedrooms and off-road parking. We are conveniently situated on the A353 at Preston about 2 miles from the centre of the holiday resort of Weymouth and just 600 metres from the lovely uncrowded beach at Overcombe.

Squires Lodge is the ideal base from which to enjoy all that the beautiful county of Dorset has to offer. Most of Dorset’s coast and countryside are designated ‘Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ and the Jurassic Coast has been awarded World Heritage Status in recognition of its wonderful geology.

The South West Coastal Path is just down the road as are the RSPB’s nature reserves at Lodmoor and Radipole lake. Walkers and cyclists will appreciate the fact that from Squires Lodge the terrain is flat to the sea, the reserves and along the promenade to the heart of Weymouth itself.

We firmly believe you will find many interesting places to visit and lots to do from the many attractions that this beautiful part of England has to offer. Squires Lodge is a single storey house built in the 1970’s which has recently undergone extensive renovation and now provides deluxe modern facilities for our guests. We adopt a total no-smoking policy to ensure that a clean, fresh environment is maintained and we do not cater for children.

With the bedrooms being on the ground floor and with the sea and promenade and the many amenities of nearby Weymouth being within walking distance over flat terrain, a stay at Squires Lodge is particularly suitable for those who enjoy walking but prefer to avoid hilly areas and stairs.

Our standards are high and we believe our service and hospitality are among the very best. Our guests’ comfort and satisfaction are of paramount importance to us.

Bedroom 1 has a double bed.

Bedroom 2 has a super-king size bed which can be converted into 2 single beds.

Both rooms have shower and toilet facilities en-suite, double glazed windows, heating, remote control TV, alarm clock/radio, hairdryer, and tea and coffee making facilities. An iron and ironing board are available on request.

Tariff

High Season (July & September)
£55 per night for double room with two persons sharing.

£35 per night for single occupancy. Please enquire for availability.

High Season (August)
Room rate is £60 per night or £380 per week.

Please note that we can only take bookings for a minimum of 2 nights at weekends and Bank Holidays during the High Season.

Discounts are available for bookings of 4 nights or more.

Outside the High Season
As for July and September, but room rate for two persons sharing is reduced to £50 per night for stays commencing from Sunday to Thursday.

The above rates include a freshly prepared cooked or continental breakfast as required. We have a variety of dishes to suit all tastes.

We accept cash or personal cheques in payment. We regret that we do not have credit or debit card facilities.

How to Find Us ...

From the North and West
From the A35 Dorchester bypass, take the A354 south towards Weymouth.

After about 2 miles, having passed a lone detached house on the left hand side, as you approach the crest of the hill take the road to the left signposted Came Down Golf Course and Broadmayne.

After about 1½ miles, turn right at the signpost for Weymouth and Preston.

At the bottom of the hill, continue on the road bearing right.

The road leads to Coombe Valley. At the T-junction turn left and at the roundabout turn right into Preston Road (A353) following the sign to the Town Centre.

Squires Lodge (No. 71) is about ½ mile from the roundabout on the right hand side of the road (opposite Sunningdale Rise). Turn into our driveway.

From the East
At the end of the A31 at the roundabout near Bere Regis, turn right on to the A35 towards Dorchester.

After about 2½ miles, take the left hand exit signposted Affpuddle, Warmwell etc. Turn left. At the T-junction turn right to Affpuddle.

Continue on the road for about 7 miles finally passing through Warmwell.

At the roundabout join the A353 to Weymouth.

After about 5 miles, bear left at the roundabout and continue along Preston Road for about ½ mile. Squires Lodge (No. 71) is on the right hand side opposite Sunningdale Rise. Turn into our driveway.
