Stourcastle Lodge, Sturminster Newton, Front of HouseStourcastle Lodge has been a family home from the beginning of the eighteenth century. Originally a thatched farmhouse known as 'Orchard Farm Cottage', it has been renovated in the traditional style over the last 300 years. Recently Jill and Ken Hookham-Bassett have completed extensions to the house and offer relaxing hospitality all year round.

Central to the mediaeval cattle market town of Sturminster Newton, the secluded Lodge, recognised by its slate roof and tall white chimneys is tucked away down the quaint stone walled Gough's close.

The old fashioned Aga which generates a special warmth throughout the kitchen enables Jill to produce the most delicious of traditional dishes, using only the best local ingredients.

Some of her eclectic creations are unique to the Lodge as Jill makes clever use of herbs, flowers and vegetables, grown in their gardens
