Accommodation

In the house;
Double ensuite room with king sized bed.
Twin room with private facilities across the landing.
These 2 rooms have a lockable door across the landing and can be let together as a family suite
Family room which is detached from the main house so children can be a noisy as they like.This room has an ensuite bathroom and sleeps up to 5 in a double bed two single beds and a folding bed.
Dogs are allowed in the family room by prior consultation but may not be left unattended at any time.

All rooms have colour television, hot drinks tray, clock radio and hairdryer.

Cereals, fruit juice and toast
A choice of full english, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
kippers, ommelettes, beans, eggs or tomatoes on toast

Area Attractions

Housesteads, thought by many to be the most spectacular Roman site on Hadrian's Wall (on Hadrian's Wall National Trail), is 3 miles and a pleasant walk from Strand Cottage, whilst Roman Vindolanda (2 miles) and its sister site, the Roman Army Museum, are also close by. Nearby is the market town of Hexham (10 miles), with its historic Hexham Abbey and 14th century Old Gaol, and Haltwhistle (4 miles), the geographical centre of Britain. We are in peaceful, unspoilt Northumberland - a county of spectacular castles and coastline, and ideal for walking. Kielder Forest Park and Lake, Europe's largest man made waterway is a pleasant 40 minutes drive away. If you want some closer walking amongst attractive fells and woodlands the Northumberland National Park which is the largest in England starts two miles from the cottage.Allen Banks national trust property starts one mile from the cottage and has over 500 acres of woodland and riverbank walks affording some splendid views.

£55 to £60 per double or twin room. £35 to £39 for single occupation of double or twin room£55 to £60 for 2 people in family room then £15 per child.
