| Welcome The String of Horses is a traditional 17th Century coaching inn, ideally located in the centre of the market town of Holbeach and within easy reach of Peterborough, Kings Lynn and Spalding. The Inn which was refurbished in 2000, offers high standards of accommodation, with all rooms en-suite, a high quality restaurant and a superb location in the heart of the Fens. Offering a combination of freshly prepared meals and a wide variety of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as accommodation we are an ideal venue for weddings, christenings and family events. We can arrange a menu to suit all budgets. Music can also be arranged and we can ensure your event is celebrated in style. We pride ourselves on our menu that includes a wide variety of dishes, prepared and cooked in our kitchens using only fresh local vegetables, fish, seafood and meat. Our menu changes to reflect the season and local produce available. Whatever your reason for visiting the area, you'll be sure to find a warm and welcoming atmosphere coupled with high standards of service. |
   | Accommodation Each room is en-suite with a power shower and comes with a trouser press, hairdryer and colour television. Most of the rooms have stripped pine beds with room number 4 having that romantic four-poster. Despite the age of the Inn the rooms have a clean, light and airy feel to them, no doubt down to the careful choice of decor and bedding. Downstairs one can eat al fresco in the courtyard garden or in the comfort of Bridles Restaurant and a large lounge is downstairs to enjoy that convivial drink with friends or on your own. With room rates starting at £25.00 per person per night with a full English breakfast the prices won't break the bank either! |
| Bars/Events Whether you like just a quiet drink with friends in a traditional country pub setting, or playing a game of pool with mates, the String of Horses can provide you with a suitable setting for that enjoyable night out. If you don't like the formal setting of a restaurant when eating out, you can choose from a wide range of freshly cooked, locally sourced food served at your table in the bar whilst enjoying a tipple or two of your favourite beverage. If you prefer some entertainment on your night out, why not make it Friday's when we can offer you a wide range of entertainment including some of the area's best bands or karaoke. There is a wide range of alcoholic drinks on offer including guest ales which we change on a regular basis and teas or coffees can be offered. Situated just off the bar on the ground floor is the pool room - the place to prove your prowess with that cue. In short - in addition to a warm and welcoming atmosphere you should find the String of Horses an ideal place to have a good night out - from entertainment to just a quiet relaxing drink, (or two or three!) |    |
   | Gardens Whether your choice is a coffee on the terrace, or an alcoholic drink from our wide range of beers, guest ales or wines you're sure to enjoy it more in the quiet oasis of peace that is the String of Horses' 17th Century patio/garden area. (English weather permitting!) This cosy and quiet area is sure to help you relax after that hard day's work, whether you're looking to have a few drinks with friends, or for that special quiet romantic interlude this could be the ideal spot to chill out and relax. If you like to dine alfresco that's no problem here either. The area becomes a different place on Friday evenings during the Summer when we host our weekly barbecue, complete with entertainment. So why not chill out, relax, unwind and soak up the Sun in a relaxed informal setting with friends or family. |
| Bridles Restaurant Dine in style at Bridle's Restaurant. Adjacent to our courtyard garden Bridle's is a unique mixture of indoor dining with an outdoors feel. Relax in comfort in this light, spacious and airy restaurant, ideal for romantic dinners of a convivial night out with friends. We offer the best in freshly cooked local produce, (see menu page for more details), served in a relaxing comfortable setting. Accompany your meals with a fine bottle of wine or ales from our extensive range including guest ales. Bridle's is also the perfect setting for that special event, Party, Birthday, Anniversary or Wedding and you'll find our experience staff willing and able to turn that event is something that you'll long remember!
