Sturminster Newton

Sturminster Newton is an attractive town to explore and has many interesting buildings ranging from the 17th and 19th centuries but most are Georgian.

The entrance to Sturminster Newton town centre is via a very fine medieval six arched stone bridge, spanning the river Stour, which was built in the 16th century by John Selwood, Bishop of Glastonbury.

Sturminster Newton Mill is a working mill which is open to visitors during the summer months. A mill has stood on this site for at least 500 years but the current mill dates from the 17th century with red brick 18th century additions.
