Taychreggan, where we all deserve a little tranquility…

For 300 years Taychreggan has jealousy guarded its prime setting. It stands along on an impressive inlet looking down the length of Scotland's longest and, some say, prettiest inland loch.

The old stone house and ancient courtyard is beautifully situated in its own 40 acres of garden and natural woodland. Explore our water's edge and discover seven tiny secluded beaches. Climb to the top of hill for fine views of mighty Ben Cruachan.

After the breakfast of your choice, you may wish to visit one of the numerous historic places such as Inverarary or Kilchum Castle. For the hill walker, there are 13 Munros nearby. Or if you prefer a more relaxing pace, then let us organize a fishing trip or picnic for you.

Surrounded by mountain grandeur and abundant wildlife, it is wonderful to discover that all this is matched by superb two rosette cuisine, a fine wine list and a shamefully large selection of single malt whiskies.

You may, of course, wish to sit and do absolutely nothing for a while. A rare pastime indeed in our busy world and one that's encouraged at Taychreggan.
