Tenby, which is called Dinbych-y-Pysgod in the Welsh language, which means little town of the fishes, or little fortress of the fish, is a town that is close to the sea, which means that visitors to it will be able to enjoy activities such as swimming, taking a cruise in the area, or renting a boat and taking your friends and family for a sight seeing tour in the area. You might also want to take fishing trips. Also you can use the sea to reach many different places in the area.
Tenby, which is a walled town, is located in Pembrokeshire, which is situated to the south-west of Wales, on the Carmarthen bay. Tenby is famous for its 2 and a half miles (or about 4 kilometres) of sandy beaches, which tourists and locals like to use for jogging - so hey will have a nice view when exercising. Also people enjoy taking their pets to the beach, since it has open stretches, which aren't connected with any private property.
Tenby is also famous for its medieval styled walls, which originated from the 13th century. The town also has five arches and a church from the 15th century called St. Mary's church.

While in Tenby you might want to take a ride in one of the many boats that travel to Caldey Island, or to St. Catherine's Island - which you can also reach when the tide is low, on foot - but it is not advised, since you might get stuck there if you're not careful.
Tenby is easy to reach, due to the local train station called the Tenby railway station, and due to the many boats who reach it.
Tenby can also be easily reached by road. Tenby has a population of about 5,000 people, and has been settled as early as the 9th century, when a settlement in the area was mentioned in a poem.
Also while in Tenby you might want to enjoy the local sports events and matches that are being played in the area. You can watch the Tenby United RFC games. The Tenby United RFC is a rugby club which has been in Tenby ever since 1876. The club is part of the Welsh Rugby Union.
Other sports in the area include the Tenby Aces Cycling Club, which is the largest club in the south area of Pembrokeshire.
Tenby also boasts being the residence or the birth place (or both) of very important people - both in the past and in the present. People such as Robert Recorde, which is an Elizabethan scholar, and many more.
