Enjoy Bed & Breakfast in the new purpose built Annex of this 19th Century cottage, in the heart of the South Norfolk Countryside

The Chestnuts is a friendly, family house B & B, where you can rely on comfortable accomodation and a warm welcome from your hosts, Suzi & Peter Hubbard.

The Chestnuts is situated in the village of Tharston near Long Stratton, just 5 minutes from the A140. We are surrounded by open fields (and cows in the meadow in the Summer) in an easily accessible but quiet location. 20 minutes away is the beautiful City of Norwich with its 900 year old Cathederal, Norman Castle, the largest covered market in the U.K., plus enough shops to make you drop - if that's your speciality!

On a smaller scale, my favorite market towns of Bungay, Harleston, Wymondham, and Diss have boutique shops, an unhurried pace and inexpensive parking. The Norfolk Broads and the wide sweeping beaches of North Norfolk and Suffolk are within easy reach.

There is a good bus service from Long Stratton to Norwich but for sightseeing - wheels are essential. South Norfolk gently undulates! so is ideal for walking and cycling. Come and try for yourself.

Location

No county in Britain is richer in its historic Churches than Norfolk. There are over 650 of them, every one of them with a treasure to discover and a fascinating story to tell. Norwich has one of the finest Norman Cathederal's in the country. It is a city dominated by its historic castle.

Norfolk has a huge selection of pretty market towns for you to discover. Each with their own unique character, from the farmers markets to local restaurants, antique shops and independent stores on offer, not forgetting the ancient buildings and attractions.

City Boats offers a charming and relaxing view of Norwich and the surrounding water ways. Take the scheduled 'River Bus' to work, book a chartered cruise for large groups, or enjoy the popular musical theme nights. City Boats is an excellent way of seeing the city.
