Nestling in the heart of the Cotswold, Winchcombe was an important Royal Saxon Borough until the destruction of the abbey.
Today it is a perfect centre for walking or touring, with many quaint villages and towns nearby to explore, plus a variety of museums and ancient buildings including Sudeley Castle - one of England's most delightful historic houses and home at one time to King Henry VIII and Katherine Parr.
