Equidistant between Coleford, Monmouth and Ross on Wye within a mile of the Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire borders, making this is a great place to explore the Welsh Borders Wye Valley and Ancient Forest of Dean by foot car or bike.

It is Located at 600 ft on the ridge between the Wye and Ruardean valleys and offers spectacular 25 mile views, with forest walks starting just 30 paces away.

All rooms are Purpose built ensuite hotel rooms with direct entrances and your own front door

Accommodation at the Rock

The Rock B&B offers comfortable Bed and Breakfast Rooms near Coleford in the Forest of Dean. The Forest view accommodation consists of four bedrooms, all with Forest views and ensuite shower rooms.

Each room has a generous hospitality tray and fresh milk is available on request. Colour TV's are provided with remote controls. Hair dryer, shampoo, shower gel etc are provided for your convenience. All rooms are heated by radiators with individual thermostatic controls for your comfort. The rooms have direct access from the large car park allowing you the freedom to come and go as you please.

While all our rooms are kept meticulously clean we keep two ground floor rooms are dog friendly with the two upstairs rooms dog free - for anyone who may be sensitive to Dog allergens.

Many guests comment on how comfortable our beds are and enjoy our generous breakfasts made with local produce wherever possible. Our Local butchers award winning Coleford made Sausages made are a particular favourite as are Lindas Homemade Vegetarian sausages.

Valley View Studios

In 2010 the old skittle alley of the pub was converted and opened as two further luxury bed and breakfast studios and a comfortable single room.

The Clearwell Studio and the Bicknor room share the private patio area complete with swinging rocker chairs allowing you to appreciate the fantastic 25 mile views hear shown from the Clearwell patio.

The studios definitely have a WOW factor, they are large with good size seating area and the clearwell room has a patio with rocking chair and the ruardean has its own balcony with a rocking chair and dual aspect views giving 180 degree views over the Ruardean Valley. The bicknor luxury single room offers the same views and has its own swinging seat on the dedicated patio area this room is ideal where three people come away on holiday together.

Walking

The Rock B&B is ideally located as a base for a walking Breaks

To the north lies excellent walking around Symonds Yat Rock
To the east lies the Wye Valley and walks to Monmouth through deep forest and back along the Wye valley Walk and back over the Biblins bridge and back to the Rock B&B
To the west lies the Central forest of Dean
This gives a wide variety of walks with out using a car and if you are willing to drive the walking opportunities are endless within a 10 mile radius

Finding Us

We are just off the B4432 opposite the Hillersland Village Sign.

NOTE the B4432 is a no through Road for large Vehicles as there are a number of very narrow passing points from Symonds yat Rock due north.

If Narrow passing points bother you please approach the Rock B&B from the south on the B4432 on a good road from the Coleford and Monmouth Direction we are just under a mile South from Symonds Yat RockSat Nav's

We advise you not to rely solely on Sat nav to get around the forest or Wye valley If looking for the Rock B&B, A sat nav will take you to 300mts South of the Rock B&B by a phone box and try and take you down an extremely narrow lane.

Generally around here a Sat Nav will try and take you down lanes where your wing mirrors will touch each side of the lane thats just before you meet the farm tractor with trailer and have to reverse!!
