About Us
Rosa and John have been extending a warm welcome at the Royal Oak since 1976.
Although the Royal Oak is a favourite with tourists visiting Wiltshire, it is still very much a local's pub and sports a games room with pub favourites pool and darts, board games can also be found at the bar.
The Royal Oak was proud to be registered as a venue to conduct civil weddings in 1997 and have seen many people united into wedlock.
The Royal Oak dates back to the 16th century when it was a coaching inn, since then the pub has been used as a farrier's yard and the village bakery. The interior of the building reflects its heritage with charm, sporting low, oak beamed ceilings and wide open log fires that are kept alight during the winter months.
Available for private functions is The Royal Oak's restaurant, which can seat up to sixty with comfort. There is also a marquee for up to 300 people for larger parties; the Royal Oak is more than happy to cater for outside functions too. |
