If one was asked to name the ten loveliest villages and towns in the whole of England then the ancient cinque port of Rye would assuredly be at the top of the list. Here in this splendid Sussex setting you will find The Top O' The Hill at Rye, an Inn in the country house style, elegant and sophisticated, yet homely and informal - as pretty as a picture and as welcoming as a spring morning.

Our cottage style annex has six delightful large, airy luxury en suite rooms. Each room has its own TV and coffee making facilities and access at all times. All rooms are individual and have a homely atmosphere. We have double, twin and single rooms, a family room, facilities for the disabled and also a brass four poster bed. Ground floor rooms are available.

Our restaurant is regarded as one of the finest in the area. It is highly commended and features the best of local produce and is the mainstay of the cuisine at The Top O' The Hill. Rye bay fish is bought daily from local trawlers and we take the fullest advantage of the best in seasonal game meat, fresh fruit and vegetables. The menus change with the season and with market availability.

In the bar we offer a wide selection of hand pumped real ales, chilled lagers, cider and a fine selection of wines. There is a garden and ample easy parking.

An ideal base for exploring the whole of the area The Top O' The Hill is less than ten minutes walk from the town itself, is adjacent to the fascinating Romney Marshes and is surrounded by superb walking country over farmland, woodland and coastal areas and someof the best beaches in the country. Deep sea fishing, sea angling, bathing and water sports, trout fishing, golf and riding within easy reach of the Inn, or a pleasant drive to visit Battle,Bedgebury Pinetum, Bodian Castle, Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, Great Dixter and Hastings, and many National Trust properties nearby.

We are located less than half a mile from Rye town centre mainline rail and bus stations on the A268 at the top O' the hill.
