Bed & breakfast farm house accommodation situated between Kendal and Windermere in the English Lake District. Just 10 minutes drive from Kendal and 15 minutes to Windermere.

Tranthwaite Hall is a magnificent olde world farmhouse dated 1174 and known to be the oldest in the district with beautiful oak beams, doors and a black iron fire range. Richly furnished with lovely antiques, china and pretty en suite bedrooms. This is a working dairy and sheep farm. Watch the cows come in for milking time.

Accommodation

All of our bedrooms are en-suite and are equipped with colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities to ensure maximum comfort for your stay. Guests can start their day with a full traditional english breakfast, or contiental if you prefer, and can unwind after a long day in our cosy and comfortable guest lounge.

Tranthwaite Hall has an idyllic setting half mile up in unspoilt country lane where lots of wildlife can be seen badgers, foxes, rabbits, deer and the heron fishing in the stream. We are in beautiful countryside situated between Kendal and Windermere.

There is a very good village pub for evening meals and many more nearby.
