Varley House was built at the turn of the century to revitalise and refresh returning officers from the Boer War.

The warmth of its generously proportioned rooms is typical of that gracious age.

This charm still affects all who visit; ensuring guests are at ease from the very start, whether looking for a really active few days or simply enjoying a restful break.

We have our own car park and sunny garden and are situated opposite Hillsborough Nature Reserve, which overlooks the Harbour; a short stroll away.

How to Get Here!

Travelling from the East, take junction 27 off the M5 to join the A361. At Aller Cross roundabout take the A399 through Combe Martin towards Ilfracombe. Go through Hele Bay. Chambercombe Park is the turning on the left opposite the Swimming Pool on the approach to Ilfracombe.

For a less winding route, continue on the A361 through Barnstaple to Ilfracombe. Follow the signs for the town centre and take the right fork in the road at the end of the High Street. Continue straight on at the traffice lights and pass the Thatched Inn pub on the right. Take the second right into Chambercombe Park. Varley House is on the right, on a right hand bend.
