Fronting onto this picturesque river andset in acres of attractive gardens and parkland, the hotel offers a unique location for a peaceful and relaxing stay for holidaymakers and business travellers alike. We are only 20minutes driving time from either Norwich or Great Yarmouth and 10 minutes from North Walsham and yet enjoying the tranquillity of a broadland setting. The largely deserted sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast are also close by.

| Coarse fishing in season is also available to guests on the River Ant. For wishing to explore the "Broads", we are just up river from Barton Broad, where Nelson is reputed to have learnt to sail. |
 | The Hotel has been extensively enlarged and refurbished in 2000 and now offers 12 bedrooms which are furnished to a high standard. All rooms are en-suite, most of them with both bath and shower. |

 | The Hotel has been carefully adapted for those guests with mobility problems to provide access throughout the ground floor areas. Five of our bedrooms are situated on the ground floor and one of which is adapted for wheelchair use. |

Activities

Hickling Broad is close by and is a popular venue with birdwatchers and naturalists visiting its well-known Nature Reserve. Sailing boats are available for hire at "Whispering Reeds" boatyard. For those visitors interested in walking we are a short distance from the famous "Weavers Way" which runs from Cromer to Great Yarmouth. Horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can also be arranged with prior notice. Jet Ski hire is available at Sea Paling which is only 10 minutes away. Day launches can be hired from the boatyard across the river.
We are conveniently located for visits to the National Trust properties of Felbrigg and Blickling Hall. For keen gardeners, the beautiful gardens of East Ruston Old Vicarage, often feature on television, are nearby and a "must" to visit. |

How to find us from Norwich From ring road take A1151 sign-posted for Wroxham, keep on this road following signs for Great Yarmouth. The hotel is approximately 5 miles past Wroxham on the left.
Directions Avoiding Norwich From A11 - On approaching Norwich take the A47, sign-posted for Gt. Yarmouth. Follow as far as the Acle Roundabout. Turn onto the A1064 and follow for approximately 2 miles. Turn left onto the B1152 and follow until the junction with the A149 at Batswick. Turn left and follow signs for North Walsham and Stalham. The hotel is approximately 1.5 miles past Stalham on the right. |
