Wells is a town as well as a civil parish that is located in the northern part of Norfolk, near the coast in England. Wells-next-the-Sea is also a seaport, and due to its closeness to the sea, it allows for many different activities - such as renting a boat with your friends and family, and seeing the English coast - which allows you to see the town from a different perspective. Wells-next-the-Sea was once connected to the Wells-on-Sea railway station, which took passengers on the national rail network, and offered two separate lines going to the east, but it suffered damage back in 1953 due to floods in the east coast, and was never repaired and reinstated. Part of its track is now being used by the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway. There is also the Wells Harbour Railway, which is a separate railway that is a 10 1/4 inches gauge railway, which, like its name suggests, picks up passengers from the harbor and the seafront, s well as the nearby caravan site.
While in Wells-next-the-Sea you might want to visit the field studies center that is located in the center of the town, and is situated in the former home of the Wells County Primary School, which was relocated to another school's location.
There is also a lifeboat station in Wells-next-the-Sea, which houses an all-weather lifeboat as well as an inshore rescue boat near the harbor's entrance. The old lifeboat house is still present, and you can visit it, but it now serves as the harbor offices, and is located at the western part of the quay, near the end.
Wells-next-the-Sea is famous for the lifeboat disaster that took place in it during the year 1880, and a memorial still stands to this day next to the lifeboat house, to commemorate the people who died due to that disaster.
Wells-next-the-Sea is also offering a busy nightlife, which includes visiting various local eateries and restaurants, which offer local delicacies - such as samphire and glasswort, and many other local delicacies.
Wells-next-the-Sea also offers simple cuisines - such as their famous fish and chips shops, which are located near the quay.
There are also various other restaurants, that fit different taste buds, and different heritages, as well as many other bars and nightclubs.
