The Wentworth House Hotel, Bath is an imposing Victorian Mansion built in 1887 for a wealthy merchant and his family. It enjoys a peaceful location with superb views across the city. Unlike many hotels in Bath you will not be disturbed by pedestrian or traffic noise. It is a haven from the hustle and bustle but just a 1/2 mile walk, via a footpath to the city centre.
Set in an acre of gardens guests can relax, take a quiet drink on one of the terraces, a refreshing swim in our heated pool, or enjoy the therapeutic benefits of the garden hot tub available all year round. |
 
Superior Facilities
The Drawing Room
The elegant drawing room provides guests with an opportunity to read one of our complimentary newspapers, or perhaps to have a leisurely drink from our well stocked.
For business guests we have the Bloomfield Room, which is an interview/small meeting room. We can also offer a fax and e-mailing service, if required. Lunch and refreshments can be served throughout the day to suit the individual needs.
The Garden
We have an outdoor heated swimming pool situated on a large terrace with far reaching views of the City. The garden hot tub can be enjoyed year round (at extra cost). |
The Restaurant
In our sunny conservatory restaurant a generous, traditional English breakfast and buffet awaits you in the morning. A continental breakfast can be served to guests preferring to remain in the comfort of their bedrooms . In the evenings residents and non - residents can enjoy a delicious, home-made 'table d'hôte' meal complemented by daily 'specials'. For those preferring something lighter we have a range of snacks that can be served in the lounge or restaurant.
We pride ourselves on the high standard of our cuisine. We offer fresh, local produce and high quality home cooking which includes gluten free bread and cakes. The resident proprietor is a qualified Home Economist and is happy to cater for special diets by prior arrangement. |

The Bedrooms
When looking at romantic Bath hotels you will find our comfortable bedrooms and suites are traditionally and individually furnished with many antique, brass and 4 poster beds. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities, complimentary home-made biscuits, hair dryers, TV's and direct dial telephones. We have a number of ground floor bedrooms which are available for those with mobility problems. Situated as we are, away from the main road and the city centre you won‘t be disturbed by pedestrian or traffic noise.
Dinner is served nightly in our lovely conservatory restaurant that over looks the gardens, swimming pool and the city below.
The menu caters for most tastes and uses fresh local produce where possible. The fresh herbs used in the dishes come from our own herb garden. Our menu is mostly gluten free but we are happy to cater for any special dietary requirements by prior arrangement.

NB We are not able to accept children under the age of 7 because we have an unmanned swimming pool in the grounds.
 How to Find Us
On arrival in Bath(from M4) follow sign for 'through traffic' and then A39 Wells, and A36 Bristol until you reach the railway arches on your right hand side.At this junction take the road sharp left going up the hill signposted 'Shepton Mallet A367'.
Follow this road for 1/2 mile until you pass a pub called the 'Bear' on your right (large polar bear over the door). Move into the centre of the road just past the pelican crossing.
Bloomfield Road is on the right and served by the filter lane in the centre of the road.
The hotel is 100 metres on the right.
