Weston-super-Mare, which is a seaside resort, is also a civil parish that is located at the northern part of Somerset county in England. Weston-super-Mare is located on the coast of the Bristol Channel, and is just 18 miles (about 29 kilometres) from Bristol, and is near Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill, and many other locations, which make it ideal for the travelling salesman or woman, or for a vacationer who wants to get the most out of his allotted free time.
Weston-super-Mare has a population of about 72,000 people, and is reachable by many different ways, so you don't need to worry about transportation to and from the resort, or within it. One of the available modes of transportation are the trams, which offer a 2.9 miles long network, or about 4.7 kilometres, which offer an easy mode of transportation, which allows you to see the sites in the resort at ease
Other modes of transportation include the road network and the railway network. Weston-super-Mare is very close to the M5 motorway, and to the A370 route, which allows you a choice and helps you to avoid the traffic when arriving to the resort. It will also allow you easy access to many different areas in Weston-super-Mare's proximity.
The railway started operating as early as 1841, and is still operating to this day. You can take a train from the town's centre, which is just about 10 minutes from the seafront. The railway lines offer direct access to various nearby locations - such as Taunton, Bristol, Cardiff and more.
There are also many buses in the area, which will help you and your family tour the area with ease. The buses reach many local attractions as well as nearby cities, and a nearby airport - the Bristol International Airport. You can also take coach services which is situated at a car park, next to the railway station.
You can also travel by air by using the Bristol International Airport, or by going via a helicopter and landing nearer in the helipad at the RAF Weston-super-Mare, which opened back in 1936 and has a rich history, due to its involvement in the second World War. It also features a helicopter museum in its grounds, which you and your family can visit.
You can also soak in some of the local culture and art in Weston-super-Mare, which includes The Playhouse, which is one of the many arts venues in the resort. It usually serves both locals and tourists so don't be afraid to pay it a visit and see its exhibitions. There is also a smaller venue that houses the Blakehay Theatre and Community Arts Centre, which is situated at a Baptist church, and hosts concerts on a regular basis, so there's always something to see there.
There is also the Odeon Cinema which started as early as 1935, and has been restored, and there are many other venues and attractions besides that.
