West View cottage, dating back to the 17th century, is built in the traditional Yorkshire Long House style of cruck construction with thatched roof. It is a "listed building" and features in "Houses of the North Yorkshire Moors".

For the comfort of our guests we offer a private sitting room and separate dining room, where we serve English or Continental breakfast. The south facing garden and summerhouse are for your enjoyment and use, there is also private parking for your car.

Our two guest bedrooms "Pinder Dale" and "Riccal Dale" with exposed oak beams are tastefully decorated in keeping with the period of the cottage.

"Pinder Dale" is a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and "Riccal Dale" is a twin bedroom with en-suite toilet including wash basin plus separate, sole use bathroom (bathrobes and slippers provided), both have tea/coffee making facilities, colour televisions, radio alarm and hair dryers.

At West View Cottage we aim to provide the discerning guest a central location with the perfect blend of traditional surroundings and modern facilities.

We are a non-smoking residence.

Duncombe Park (in Helmsley): Probably one of the finest restored houses in North Yorkshire surrounded by a unique 18th century landscaped green garden.

How to find us:

Leaving Helmsley on the A170 travel towards Pickering. Approximately one mile after leaving Helmsley turn left at the small crossroads signpost Pockley.

Travel up the lane and enter the village. West View Cottage is the last thatched cottage on the right hand side of the lane. Approximately one mile from the A170 and just before the church. Drive straight onto the property via the stone walled entrance just before the cottage.
