Whitebridge is a long established Highland Hotel, built in 1899 on the site of a King's House which was destroyed by fire some years before.A King's House was a hostelry used by the soldiers while in a specific area. This King's House was used by the soldiers of General Wade while they were stationed in the highlands. Building roads was one of the troops duties, and you can still see the original bridge built here in the 18th Centuary
The resident proprietors David and Sarah Murray welcome you to Whitebridge Hotel amid the foothills of the Mondalith Mountains approximately 3 miles from the shores of Loch Ness in the Highlands of Scotland. |

The Hotel itself has 12 bedrooms, all with colour TV and coffee/tea making facilities and most have en suite bath/shower and w.c.An intimate dining room provides for the enjoyment of a high standard of home prepared catering and an extensive and well selected cellar. There is a comfortable residents' lounge and the hotel has two bars: a traditional local public bar and a smaller cocktail bar, where you can relax and choose from the extensive range of malt whiskies available.
Excellent brown trout fishing is available in the area, and outings for salmon and sea-trout can be arranged on request. Stalking, on local estates, is available by prior arrangement.
The area abounds with wildlife and is a haven for bird-watchers and naturalists alike.
Pony trekking, riding, boating, windsurfing, golfing, off roading, and a host of other activities are available in and around the area. |

The HOTEL lies between the Southern shoreline of Loch Ness and the high ridges of the Monadhliath Mountains - an unspoilt area of wild and beautiful landscapes where lochs, woodlands, moor land hill farms and mountains blend into an ever changing panorama.
Ancient Picts, early Christian Missionaries, fierce Celtic Clans and proud Jacobites lived and died here leaving a rich tapestry of legend, history, old fortresses, hidden retreats and many tales and monuments to mark their passage.
The range of elevation from 20 - 1000 meters means great diversity in climate and habitat, thus providing many different environmental niches for flora and fauna, ensuring a great and plentiful variety of wildlife - probably unequalled in North Scotland - even without the mysterious Loch Ness Monster.
Secluded as the Southside may be, the area is easily reached by three main routes; from Fort Augustus take the B862 to Whitebridge. From the A9 at Daviot take the B851 signpost to Fort Augustus, which leads through the hill farms of Strathnairn to Stratherrick and Whitebridge, and from the townof Inverness take the road past the castle by the River Ness, B862 to Dores, Inverfarigaig, Foyers, Gorthleck and Whitebridge. The whole area is well served with additional side roads well worth exploring, always bearing in mind that most are single track and require careful driving and the use of passing places
