History

The Wynnstay Arms Hotel was built around the 1800's and was originally a Coaching House for travellers on their journey through Wales to Ireland.

Why not come and spend a few days with us you will find that the Wynnstay is an ideal touring base for visiting Cheshire, North Wales and the famous Horse Shoe Pass where you can view the spectacular Welsh Hills.

Also within easy reach are two fine National Trust properties, Erddig Hall and Chirk Castle.

There are ten excellent Golf Courses within a half hours drive.

Llangollen provides a unique setting for Walking, Mountaineering, Biking, Canoeing or just admiring the beautiful scenery. The Llangollen Railway which runs through eight miles of some of the most stunning scenery in Britain has special events throughout the year, with Thomas the Tank and his friends visiting the line.

Catering

The Wynnstay has long held a reputation for its high standard of cuisine and the homely and cost atmosphere in our Library and Restaurant. The friendly oak paneled Lounge Bar offers traditional Cask Ales and Lagers.

Accommodation

The Hotel has nine en-suite bedrooms including the Bridal Suite each with Colour TV, Sky News, and Telephone and Tea/Coffee facilities. Each room is furnished to a high standard with its own character.

Business

For Business Meetings the Wynnstay can accommodation anything from 2-120 delegates. screens, overhead and slide projectors are available.

Functions

Weddings or Private Functions can be arranged for up to 120 guests in the Wynnstay Suite and for smaller functions the Library or Restaurant.

We are now licensed to hold Civil Marriages in our suites. Brochures for weddings and celebrations are available.
