A Double bedroom with dedicated bathroom

A Large flexible Twin bedroom with dedicated shower room not en-suite. This room can be configured into a single, twin, or triple. This is a large room and has a sofa as well. As a triple it is ideal for 3 teenagers with mum and dad in the double en-suite next door.

Yew House is a detached property offering a flexible range of bed and breakfast accommodation (B&B). Yew House has been built with as many green and Eco friendly features as possible, low wattage lighting circuits, water efficient devices, central heating with individual thermostats on all radiators, Heat reflective windows, a very high degree of insulation. All the electrical plugs sockets and switches are set so as little or no bending is required.Yew House B&B is located in the Sussex town of Crowborough, making it the ideal centre for visiting the Ashdown Forest and the High Weald Area Know for its outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) also famous for its Whinnie the pooh and friends connection. Hundred Acre Wood, Pooh sticks bridge and all the other places from the AA Milne stories.

Crowborough was also the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle creator of the Sherlock Holmes novels.

About Us

I welcome all my guests whether for a one night stay, through to the businessperson who may need a month or more.

You can be assured of a warm and homely welcome with a personal touch.

If you are visiting Crowborough, Barnsgate Mannor, Rotherfield, Uckfield, Tunbridge Wells, Lewes or surrounding area.

For a Wedding, Christening, House hunting, Job interview, Family party, Training courseMaybe you are visiting a friend or relative at the Hoarder centre, Crowborough hospital or at one of the many private nursing homes and hospitals in the area, and need short term accommodation or just wanting a place to relax to for a weekend away with a quiet walk on the Ashdown Forest.

Yew House is well supplied with public transport links.

There is a bus stop is close to the top of the drive The name of the stop is Medway. Passing bus numbers are 229, 29, going to Tunbridge Wells, Uckfield, Lewes, and Brighton.

Crowborough railway station is approximately 1/4 of a mile down the road with trains to London hourly.

The local community of Jarvis Brook is within easy walking distance and has a good selection of restaurants and small shops.

There are also 4 or 5 National Trust properties with in a 10 mile radius of Crowborough, not to mention Royal Tunbridge Wells (6 miles) the old market town of Heathfield (8 miles) and picturesque villages of Rotherfield (2 miles) Mayfield (5 miles), Eastbourne (18 miles) and Brighton (20 miles) Gatwick is airport (18 miles).

Yew House B&B is located on Crowborough Hill approx. 1 1/4 miles from the traffic lights in Crowborough town centre.

From Tunbridge Wells (A26) turn left at the traffic lights, from Brighton (A26) turn right passing along Crowborough high street.

At the first mini roundabout (White Hart pub on corner) carry straight on passing the Police station on your left, the road now drops down hill and Yew House is on the left. One drive before the turning into Medway. (Please be warned that Crowborough Hill has a 30 mph speed limit and is well known for mobile speed cameras.)

Yew House B&B lays back off the main road of Crowborough Hill down the drive between two houses and Yew House facing you.
Should you get to the small area of Jarvis Brook and the railway station you have missed us, turn around and go back up the hill and I am the first drive passed Medway on the right hand side. Almost opposite the speed camera warning sign.

From Gatwick Airport North or South terminals follow the road signs for the M23 at the motorway you need to go south on the M23 signed to East Grinstead and Brighton. At the next exit (aprox 3 miles) exit Signed to East Grinstead stay in left hand lane and follow signs to East Grinstead. When in entering the town (Fire station on your left) stay in left hand lane until the Shell petrol station and then bear left on the main road through the cutting stay on this road for aprox 5 miles passing through the village of Forest Row continue to follow the signs for Eastbourne aprox 2 miles on you will come a cross a set of traffic lights go straight on and continue over the forest the road drops down a straight hill and you need to take the first turning on the left as you go up the hill it is signed to Crowborough but be warned that the sign is right on the turning if you reach a 30 mph speed limit sign and a Chinese restaurant on your right you have just missed the turning by about 200 yards if you did not miss the turning continue across the forest to a staggered cross road going straight across then (you have to give way) continue on for aprox 1 mile to the T junction (A26) and turn left continue passed the Crow and Gate pub to the traffic lights in Crowborough Town centre and turn right passing along Crowborough high street.
