Birmingham in the Midlands is a large city. Brummies, as people from Birmingham are lovingly called, are probably close to being the nicest people in Britain as they are friendly and jovial. Once you are in the city you should have a look at the main museum called the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. It has some stunning collections at times and is well worth checking out. There are more council owned museums such as Aston Hall, Blakesley Hall, the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter, Soho House, and Sarehole Mill, a popular attraction for fans of J. R. R. Tolkien. For more relaxation you can check out the largest European Urban nature Reserve in Sutton Park. After all this relaxing you can go all out and shop till you drop at the Bullring shopping centre which is located near the city centre. After this you can relax and talk to the person above or admire the building to worship him in St Pauls Cathedral or St Chad's. To watch people and observe the hustle and bustle of Birmingham you can go to numerous public squares including Centenary Square, Chamberlain Square and Victoria Square. The historic Old Square is located on Corporation Street.

For sport fans there is no greater gift then to watch matches between two of England's finest teams in Aston Villa and Birmingham City who are both located in the city itself and the other stadium can easily be spotted from the rivals stadium. Edgbaston is famous for the cricket and very often test matches are held here as well. The National indoor area plays host to some athletics events and 3 or 4 times per year the WWE wrestling shows stop by here. Big conferences and exhibitions will be found in the NEC which is host to some of the biggest shows in the UK.
